If anyone was not aware, there will be a solar eclipse August 21st. A major swath of the US will be in the path, and it will be the first total eclipse since the early 80's here. Many folks will want to view and photograph the event.
Digital cameras, with LCD screens, actually do extremely well imaging the Sun. Do not look through a viewfinder, but use the LCD to aim. Do not leave your camera/phone aimed at the Sun, it will burn out the CCD/CMOS in fairly short order, but a few snaps...
