Seven times as much for a muhle?

I work across the street from Merz's in downtown Chicago. I must use restraint every day!

Anyway, I was thinking of getting another brush. Right now I use a Sterling Kong, a purple marble swirl 24 mm Maggards and a generic Badger brush included with some soaps I bought. Three brush rotation is plenty for me (I own five more brushes but i only use these three).

I was thinking I'd replace my black badger with another synth. I love both my synths (I have another two that I hate, but that's besides the point!). The two I love both have the Plissoft style knot.

Merz only carries 2 synths in their downtown store-- an Omega which was ok and a Muhle which was at least as soft as my Plissoft from Maggards. I asked how much for the Muhle-- $85! Now, that wonderful Maggards I bought cost me $12. That Muhle had an epoxy handle that was no nicer than my purple marble Maggards brush. Maybe the Muhle knot was a tad softer (it really did feel good against my skin) but it wasn't seven times softer!

I don't get it...
