My girlfriend's 7th grader recently started growing upper lip peach fuzz and a couple stray chin whiskers, so it was time.....
We gave him the options for his tools to choose, believing he would pick up the plastic disposables. Surprisingly, he pointed to my shelf of razors and said he wanted "something like those".
So I looked for something I thought was least likely to carve up his face (he's not terribly dextrous at this stage) and handed him a decent Gillette tech.
He loaded it up with blade, and I made him up some lather (I wasn't quite willing to let him mash on one of my brushes, so I will need to pick up something semi disposable before next month's shave😄)
It was a little scary, but he got it done with only one little bleeder and finished it off with some Aqua velva ice blue, which is a huge improvement over the axe crap he has been spraying on lately!
I was extremely excited how this turned out and thought I'd share. I guess I shouldn't have assumed that a kid would want the modern stuff just because it was new and wouldn't be able to see value or enjoyment in this thing all of us enjoy so much.
New wet shaver in the works
