Hi friends!
I hope this can be my way of giving something to the global shaving community.
Last Augusts I saw someone on a facebook group who 3D printed his own brush handles, but the shapes he printed out where pretty standard "latheable" shapes, I found this a pitty because a 3D printer can print pretty much any shape you can imagine as long as you have the 3D model.
That is where I come in, I want to model these shapes for you and for the world to print.
Unfortunately I had only a little conversation with that person before I left for a holiday and after that I kinda forgot. But here I am now to make up for it.
We need 3 things.
1) Ideas and concepts.
That is what I want to ask the whole community, to come up with shapes and ideas for brush handles. Even if you won't print out your own brush handles. Ideally is a clear drawing, but a crappy drawign also goes a long way, or otherwise a good descriptions might be all we need.
2) 3D models
That is where I come in, I can model the good and popular ideas.
3) Someone to print it
I know there are already people printing their handles. But if you like to have a handle but dont have acces to a 3D printer or someone else with a 3D printer there are also a few companies that will 3D print your models for you in many different materials, I know of "Shapeways" and "Materialise" but there must be more.
3,5) Someone to help me test the shape
I do not have a 3D printer myself so I can not do a test print myself, so I might still need a bit of help with testing.
That's it, let start the first phase, let the ideas come!
btw, I will give all models to the public domain, so yeah I will share them here and they are free for everybody to do with them as you like.
