I ordered the soap/aftershave special from Van Yulay in the Green Irish Tweed scent.
I've shaved with it twice now.
It loads and lathers very quickly with my badger brush, perhaps due to the "rosette" pattern of the soap.
On my first shave the lather felt dry on my face, even though it had a good consistency and sheen. I chalked it up to it being an unfamiliar soap and me being a newbie.
It gave a great shave, between DFS and BBS with no irritation, nicks, or weepers.
The second shave was identical, still felt a bit dry (maybe because I'm comparing it to the MWF and Saponificio Varesino I've been using lately), but still gave a great shave with plenty of lather for three passes and touch ups.
The aftershave is unusual as it's water based and separates after sitting. A quick shake fixes that. It does have witch hazel aloe and glycerin.
Mine had menthol added, so it was a quick burn then cold for a couple of minutes. Left my skin feeling great.
The scent is terrific and lasts for several hours.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the products, especially for their price.
