I just picked up a chair I found on some local classifieds.
It was listed as an Oak and Brass chair. All complete, the fittest said KOCHS. Not as good as a Koken, but it all worldfair, it was complete, in pretty good condition, so I jumped on it.
When I got it home, looking at it closer, I found a tag that was covered in a blanket of paint. A little pain stripper revealed it was a Koken chair, with the most recent patent date from Dec 3, 1901.
A bit of digging on the net, and I found this was a Model 138, which patent was applied for in 1903, and granted in 1911.
This model was debuted at the 1904 World's Fair with a 12 foot working model.
I can't wait to return this chair to its glory. It will make a great fall project.
