Hey guys, I've been shaving with my Merkur 34c for almost a week now, and I must say I'm quite pleased with DE shaving. I'm getting the angle down very well, how to hold the razor. I haven't nicked myself once since the first day (but the Merkur 34c is a very forgiving razor, ) and short strokes are how you get the best shave. Also getting less and less razor burn with each shave. Double edge blades are much sharper than cartridge blades, you don't need to apply any pressure. But, it's still a little tricky for me under my chin, but I'm getting there lol. A little more difficult to get a smooth shave there. I did a 3-pass this morning, and it's as smooth as any cartridge razor I ever used, and with an .11 cent blade lol. Amazing. And anybody who's just taking up DE shaving, I would recommend the Merkur 34c. Great beginners razor, very forgiving, not too aggressive, and a great shave. Til next time guys!
