Hi there,
I've had two Semogue brushes in my life. Had a 1250, which I liked although it was a bit on the floppy side for an exclusive face-latherer, I found, and a 610, which I still have.
The quality of the hairs on those is undisputed, althought some, as I do, prefer the stiffer Omega brushes. I do have one concern regarding Semogue. Both of my boar hair brushes last their loft, at some point (I'd say 6 months in or so). I guess I dipped them too deep in warm water, and shook them too vigorously. However, I haven't have the same issue with my Omega, or the badger brushes I owned before, which I've treated in the same way. The Omega has a little plastic cup which seems to give the brush increased resistance to the damp and vigorous shaking.
Has anyone had the same issues with their Semogue? I'm wondering because using my 610 again recently made me think that maybe I should try a SOC some day. But I don't want to if I need to reglue the loft in when the hairs have just reached their potential...
Again, my comment may be unfair to Semogue as I might not treat them very gently, but I didn't know I should. Note that I've always hung them up to dry head down...
