I have been wet shaving fo over a year now. I have been using a whipped dog black badger brush from the start (a great brush that i will definitely use in a rotation). It has been a great brush.
My curiosity has gotten the better of me and i decided i wanted venture out and try some other brushes because...well because there are others out there. I told my friend, who recommended the whipped dog, i was considering a new brush and he let me borrow his simpson colonel. He said it would be an upgrade from what i'm using now. It is definitely softer and works great! So, i ordered one and i am awaiting delivery!
I know what you are thinking...why does the title sat razorock disruptor? I'm getting there, sorry for the delay.
While reading the forums, a lot of talk about synthetics kept coming up. My friend, yes the same on who loaned me the colonel, told me that synts weren't very good when i first started wet shaving. I told him that the forums i'm reading are contradicting his view. I told him how many of you have stated that synths have made huge progress in the past couple of years. He wasn't aware of this and told me he was going on what he knew of synths over 10 years ago.
Anyways, i ordered the disruptor to give it a go too. It arrived today while the colonel is still in transit. I lathered the disruptor up tonight, and wow this thing lathers phenomenally! It is also soooo smooth! Smoother than my friends colonel even, and yet it has plenty of backbone!
I alternate bowl and face lathering. I bowl lathered tonight. Here is a pick of the wonderful lather this brush produced with my catie's bubbles soap.
Even after 3 passes and touchup, there was enough lather to easily do 3 more passes! What a great and extremely affordable brush! This pic is after i was finished shaving.
