I haven't seen a whole lot about this brush here on the forum, so I figured I'd share my thoughts about it. My previous experience with boars has been positive. I've had the Omega 48 and a WD 30mm boar. Both of those were good brushes. I liked the 48 more because of the higher loft. The only reason I ended up pif'ing it was the ergonomics of the handle. The fatness of it right at the bottom of it killed it for me. I always pinched the knot when lathering with it. The handle was pretty uncomfortable for me with that method, so out the door it went. The WD was nice, is just lacked the loft I liked for a boar brush.
On to the new beast. And yes, this thing is a beast. The knot, from what I've read, is very, very similar in size to the 48's knot and looks every bit as big. It feels just as the 48 did on the face... Awesome. The lather it produced was fantastic. The ergonomics of this brush is what truly shines for me. The handle is thinner at the bottom and has two ridges down there also to help with proper handling. I'm able to comfortably grip the handle and the knot without any comfort issues whatsoever. I was able to slap suds exactly where I wanted to and completely kept it from where I didn't want it... No nostril bombs or unwanted lather snacks for me! The material of the handle seema thicker than the plastic used on the 48, so it carries just a bit more weight. That's another plus.
Pis of leftover lather and the grip included...
