Bit silly, but I'm torn.

I currently shave with my Grandfather's 1930s Gillette ball end, been shaving with it for the last year, and for the most part, love the shave I get.

But, I've been thinking about getting a long-handle Merkur, Weishi, Parker, or Smoothere for the extra weight and handle length.

Several friends have the Merkur, which they really like...

So, the question is, which one? They're all comparable price...

OK, that's not the real question.

The real question that I'm debating is... do I NEED a long-handle safety razor since I'm pretty happy with Grandpa's Gillette? Or should I leave well enough alone?
