We don't get a lot of threads in here other that the I am checking in type. But this is the shave clinic after all. So after a few weeks of have less than desirable shaves as far as closeness goes, I decided to do something about it. Another member here in the shave clinic posted a thread about how over the years he picked up habits that made him change the angle in which he shaves. I did a quick assessment and I thought that I might be doing the same.
So this week I decided to use some of my soaps that are very protective and moisturizing (PannaCrema Lavandotto if anyone is wondering) and with my Shavetools STSS-6 Safety Razor (Slightly aggressive but not too much) I slapped in a Feather Hi Stainless blade and then went to town. For this week, I took my time, lowered my angle (somewhere less than 45 degrees, but to much less), and tried different directions for my XTG and ATG passes. I was trying to get a smoother shave than I probably should have attempted.
The verdict is that no matter how I shaved and how much time I took...I bloodied my self bad. I used a light touch when actually shaving and really tried to work on technique. Looking like a guy from the chainsaw scene of Scarface is not my idea of a close shave. So while the blade was efficient...I am not sure if if it for me. Maybe I should have but in something a little less slice-y. Anyway...just thought I would share my shaving experience with you from this week.
