I've looked for information about the new (2015 onwards) closed comb DE razor from Goodfella, made here in NZ, but haven't found much other than on the maker's website.
This razor is my first foray into DE shaving, so I don't have anything to compare it with. So rather than say much about the shaving performance (YMMV, I'm a noob, but I like it so far) I thought I would share a handful of pictures of the razor.
This razor is heavier than I expected (again, with no comparison other than cartridge razors), weighing in at 99 grams, it has a good heft. The handle is apparently stainless steel, and the (2 pieces of the) head are much lighter than they look so its probably zamac.
The finish on the razor is superb. Nicely chromed, shiny, etc.
I was going to be clever and use the website of the seller (kiwishaver.co.nz) to crib some facts and figures, but the razor isn't listed on their site at the moment. But I recall reading that this closed comb version was '20% more aggressive' than the open comb razor that they sold pre-2015. Somewhere on this site is a list that puts this older model as less aggressive than the DE89, so perhaps the closed comb is on a par with that head?
