well I'm a DE guy....just look at my screen name. I never really got into straights much. but during my years of DE hunting I would not pass on straights thinking someday I would get into it. I have accumulated 200+ of them maybe even in the 300 range. You name it and there is a good chance its in my collection from a packwood to a few 1 inch thick barber only Wade and Butcher's. I want to move them on to good homes and would like your advise on the best way to go about it.
I think value wise individually listing them on ebay or craigslist would net the most amount to money. There are some that either have bad blades with nice scales or decent blades with broken scales. Maybe those would be best grouping together in a lot or two?
If I list them here on the classified section what is your experience on sold prices compared to ebay? Same, a little less or a lot less? I'm wondering if it could support listing at average ebay sold prices?
I will also be moving on some fantastic de stuff, I have a nice display case that is full and I'm happy with whats in it, I have so much DE stuff packed away and duplicates of whats in my case that they are likely not going to see the light of day again until they are in another home.
Its a very large collection and honestly I'm not looking forward to the work of listing everything but its something that should be done.
Your ideas and thoughts are appreciated. To keep in compliance I wont be discussing specifics on what will be sold beyond what has been mentioned.
