I was at my local men's gift shop looking for a new shaving bowl. Thinking about switching away from the apothecary mug. A bunch of the hand made bowls on the shelf had dimples at the bottom, and I asked the staff about them. They said that bowls with dimples, ridges, and other not-smooth designs will help with the mixing of lather.
Now, I can kind of see what they're saying here, but I can't make up my mind as to whether it would make any real difference. Anybody ever tried one of these? How'd it go?
Do bowls with dimples and/or ridges really help lather?
