My husband has been reading your forums for a while in regards to badger brushes. He just had the opportunity to try out a Gillette Slim adjustable and fell in love with it. I understand that's an older style blade so I have two questions.

1) Is it still possible to find this one and where would I look.

2) is there one that's better than that one.

I appreciate the feedback.

Thank you!

Mainly I am looking to spend 100-150 so which should I pick? Who has a plisson and how do you like it?

The really pricey brushes have "pure High mountain white badger hair".

I am getting my info here:

Since there really is no official classification of hair types, I am mainly looking for opinions on how they work and if it was worth the money? ]]> Shaving Brushes imbored2deth http://ift.tt/1JDz1yM http://ift.tt/1RNdOdG Mon, 28 Dec 2015 03:54:51 GMT Welcome to a new week, everyone and Dave and I hope you, all, are having wonderful holidays! *New Holiday Gear/Happy New Year * Show us any new presents/gear you may have received during the holidays or any that you wish to start off the New Year with! ]]> Shave/Scent of the Day! celestino http://ift.tt/1JDz39T http://ift.tt/1RNdOdI Mon, 28 Dec 2015 03:41:16 GMT Though recently returned to DE shaving, I'm slowly getting used to my Merkur Futur (a.k.a. "The Aggressor"). When it's cutting my whiskers, The Aggressor emits a sound sort of like the sound of my fingertip running very quickly along the teeth of a plastic comb. Am I right, fellow-Futur owners?

I've learned to use the Futur's distinctive sound to know when I have the correct head angle against my skin. Silence means either adjust the angle, or quit harassing that same area - it's done!

I've noted that when my wife is nearby, running her hairdryer, my shaving technique goes completely awry. I can no longer use that fingertip-on-comb-teeth sound as a guide to my shaving technique. My weeper numbers skyrocket. My normally suppressed 5-o'clock shadow returns with a vengeance.

Have any of you gents have similar experiences and/or any solutions?

Sincerely,
Weeper in Wyoming ]]> alanrab http://ift.tt/1JDz1yQ! http://ift.tt/1RNdOdK Mon, 28 Dec 2015 03:25:38 GMT *Hall of Fame Entry* *What is your real name?* Graham *What are your nicknames/aliases?* GMJager *Where do you live?* Central Ohio *What is your age (or) generation?* 25 *What are you in the real world?* Student/PTA/Chiropractic assistant *What is your favorite shave setup?* ...

]]> Hall of Fame GMJager http://ift.tt/1JDz39X http://ift.tt/1RNdOu0 Mon, 28 Dec 2015 03:14:17 GMT Just left Asheville NC and met a nice lady, Serinity at MakeUp shop in the Grove Arcade, and she introduced me to B&B forum to learn more about shaving. As a 40 year old, I have only used Gilette razors and have had a lot of ingrown hairs and a burning skin irritation on my neck after wearing a necktie. Serenity introduced me to the bloc of alum and advised a proper razor would help. I am now researching brushes, creams, razors and blades here. Looking to advise my wife on my selection for my birthday in January. ]]> Braddivins http://ift.tt/1JDz1yW http://ift.tt/1RNdOu2 Mon, 28 Dec 2015 02:43:22 GMT Hey all!
Name is Graham, a few buddies from the StogieChat forum referred me over to this forum.
Pretty much brand new to the wet shaving world... used to "wet" shave when I first started with the typical big box Gillette Mach3 and cartridges. Left that about 5 years ago for electric because it was easier 9and I didn't really know great wet shaving etiquette.
Decided to give wet shaving a try again, ordered the Harry's trail package... handle, three cartridges, and some shave foam. Nothing fancy, but hey... it was $3. I'm really interested in finding a good shave brush and learning the art of DE shaving. Have a lot to read on the forum here!

It's missing one of the four set screws, and a pretty important one at that being one that locates the wedge in the frame. Just curious if anyone has ever had this issue and was forced to figure this out.
