So, I did not have good luck last time I bought a straight razor from an antique shop. The scale broke when I got home.
My question : are there things to look for when looking at an vintage blade? I read through the flea market page. I honestly thought I had a good one last time. Then I was told maybe not.
I have to make scales for that one then send it off to be honed or see if it is worth honing.
I'm going back to the same town next weekend. I wanted to look again, but if I'm going to have more issues I'll just order one online.
I don't want to spend a lot, but I want a nice looking blade. I'd like a shiny one.
Any thoughts?
