Good evening strangers, thank you all for your posts on this forum, I've been devouring them for the past two days.
Here's my conundrum, I shave my head every other day with a straight.
I use a mach 3 when I'm pressed for time.
I'm fed up of the mach3 and would like to replace it with a DE adjustable.
I've narrowed down the list to the following:
1. Gillette Slim
2. Merkur Progress
3. Gillette Fatboy
4. Merkur Futur
5.
I am leaning towards the Slim since it reminds me of my father and grandfather.
The build quality seems solid.
Simpler times:)
I am put off the Progress because of the plastic bottom, in my humble opinion, I jus cannot fathom why they couldn't jus use the same material as the handle.
The Futur sounds good, but reviews of it being aggressive have me hesitant to go for it (bear in mind, that I'll be using it when pressed for time and would need to shave behind ears etc)
The fatboy is a strong contender, but the price seems a bit inflated.
I've grown up in recent years, I'm 32.
2 years ago, I would have ordered all four plus a mergress and started a collection, blowing close to £1000 in my first month, on brushes, stand, heads etc
I dont want to do this, I'd rather spend this money on my young son and see him happy.
I want something that will last me for decades, something I can travel with.
What would you guys recommend I go for?
I will not be using the razor on my face at all, it is strictly for my head.
So shaving behind ears and around it should be considered.
If I have posted this in the wrong section, please do forgive me, as I have looked through the different sections and wasn't sure where to post it.
