ok, so I've had these couple brushes for a couple years now, and while old stock/ old school, are quite nice old badgers/sivertips, very effective and well..... my faves.
Now, the problem. 2 of them have developed cracked handles and one has a decal that now wants to come off.
Two of them are old school acrylic that I'm pretty sure of, the third though, I'm not sure... could be old bakelite/catalin. (ivory+apple juice)
What I'm looking for is advice on how to save my favorite little kids.....
Now on to the problem children...
black/yellow/white acrylic Pure badger-
actually this is the one with the least, but still the biggest problem...
as for the knot... all ok, but my worry is the decal. The last time I used it the decal on the side decided to let go and try to slide off.... thankefully I saw it and pulled it away from the wet stuff and put it back in place.
Now my question for this one is, how do I secure an apparently old, water losable decal on an acrylic brush?
Next problem kid-
Blue/clear/blue acrylic silvertip-
Until now(last week) has been one of my best, most reliable performers.
I noticed however that for whatever reason, there is now a crack in the top of the handle, and the knot has shifted, and/or come out a bit on one side.
Question-
how should i fix the crack and get the knot back to where it should be?
Last one-
Bakelite/Ceratin ivory/clear?
when I got this one, it had a small crack in the handle, now I've noticed that it has 2. The one that was there, and an newer smaller one.....
Also, this is one with a decal as well....
sooooo, cracks + decal preservation?
*will edit post with pics, as they are on phone...
