Some people prefer blonds, others brunettes. Some prefer legs, others prefer.......well, you know.
I prefer Russian blades. My cabinet is filled with Polsilvers, Voskhods, Nacets and Gillette Rubies. The Gillette 7 OC Black(India) is OK and the Treet Durasharp(Pakistan) is fun because a carbon blade feels different from a coated stainless blade; but the Feather(Japan), Blue Crystal(Israel), Bolzano(Germany), Personna Med Prep(USA) and Derby(Turkey) have come and gone from my shaving den.
HDSLEDGE has been taking 100X magnification photographs of various razor blades.(http://ift.tt/1S1vRcY) .
The New Lord Platinum(Egypt) had a nice edge so I purchased a 5 pack to give them a try.
Today was day 2 with the Lord Platinum in my Wolfman WR1 OC and I am mighty impressed. The blade is sharp enough to cut through my gritty gray stubble, but my sensitive, dry skin is no worse for wear. It is too early to tell how it compares to my favorites, the Polsilver and Rubie (tied for #1). Maybe not quite as smooth but definitely as sharp. Smoother than the Nacet for sure. The best thing I can say is that the Lord Platinum feels like a Russian blade to me. And at less than $13/100 blades on Ebay, it is a huge bargain.
Does anyone else out there in Shavedom prefer this blade?
