I'm Tsur and I'm new here.
I have been shaving with Parker shavette razor and DE blades (Feahter mostly) for about a year.
Recently I bought Dovo DOVO Rasiermesser (razor) Bergischer from http://ift.tt/1QGEiMg

But what I bought is not ready for shave. It is pulling my hair and it doesn't pass the hair test either.
1. Is it possible that I got Dovo razor that is not ready for shave?
2. If I need to sharpen it, 6K stone is good enough? (Until I'll get Norton WaterStone 4K/8K)
3. Due to the razor's beautiful gold planting texture, can I use insulating tape to protect it while I sharpen it? Or it will causes bevel?
