This is a new one on me and I havent been able to come up with much on it, so I thought Id check in here to see if anyone has any intel on this one. Its a Trim brand DE, made in USA. The head pieces are cast, and the handle appears to be hollow brass with press fittings. Its pretty light, but the fit and tolerances are pretty good. So far for me its proving to be a mild shaver; a little too much so for my taste, but still efficient enough and very comfortable.
I assume that this was made by the W.E. Bassett Company, makers of the Trim brand nail clippers and assorted other personal grooming hardware. Given this basic product line, it makes sense that at some point they would have made a DE razor, but Ive never seen one before. I cant come up with any history to confirm my assumption, other than the fact that Bassett did own the rights to the Trim name dating back to the late 1940s or so. While its not exactly a work of art, it is a decent enough old razor, and I happen to like these off-the-beaten-path pieces, so I couldnt resist picking this one up.
Anyone got any information to offer on this one?
