I am not looking for the big things in life, I like small pleasures, have the time over lunch to get a smoke meat at schwartz, looking at doctor who with my daughters...
And tonight was one of those great little pleasure, because I was not expecting much...
Recently a got a bunch of samplers D.R.Harris, Tobs, Truefitt, castle &F because I did not know that well english cream, and no offense to anyone intented , still not a huge fan (for a few exceptions). In large part I find them more or less interchangeable (again no rocks plse just how I feel), all good quality but scent wise all good but do not find too many stand out, none that I would reject and not use but not sure I would buy a full tube/soap.
Some deception that I was expecting to love, a couple of the TOBS ( do not remember which I tried), Truefitt Grafton, somehow I was expecting more (maybe unfairly). On the otherside was surprised by Harris Arlington and windsor, windsor I thought ok I will get some and it will be my "english" cream, and arlington because it is only described as fern, lemon but somehow boom it is in my nose and I feel good.
Well tonight , I stand corrected that I have much to discover, because I was truly going thru my sample of C&F C/S just to use it. First I do not like sandalwood. WoW was I surprised by a fantastic experience, first the quality is there like the others, but no easy sweet popular scent with this one, cedar followed by wood, smokey wood, and tobacco. Cedar did not stay extremely long, byt smokey wood and tobacco stayed long after the shave.
I still have a lot of unopened sample and I look at them with a better attitude now,
A scent with personality, that one will come in for the winter for sure
