In a lot of razor picking, I have always skipped over the Old Type. Sunday I picked up a solid green, grungy, bent tooth, gold Old for next to nothing. I put it in my brass tumbler and brought back the shine. I used a pencil butane torch to heat and straighten the bent tooth...Tonight I put a used Feather in it and did a two pass shave. I got a near BBS result with little effort. I don't think it glided as good as a safety bar razor, but it sure cut close with no nicks, weepers, or burn.
