Tonight's shave would have been perfect if it weren't for the awful burning brought on by my new puck of Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns. As far as I know, I'm not allergic to any of the ingredients, however, the "fragrances" aren't explicitly named. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had trouble with this soap. Since it performed so well and I love the scent, I'm going to give it another shot just to see if it was a fluke, but I'm really expecting anything to change.
My alternate theory: I microwaved it for a few seconds at a time in a Pyrex bowl until it was mostly liquid so it would re-solidify in the shape of the dish. Could this have maybe caused a new chemical reaction or somehow reveresed the soponification or something to make it more base again? I'm no chemist, so I don't know if that's even possible, but if it is, that could maybe cause a chemical burn. I figure it's worth getting a few outside opinions.
What do you think? Did I somehow ruin it or am I probably just allergic to an unnamed ingredient?
