Help with Making a Balsa Strop

I am making a balsa strop for CrOx refreshing. Thanks very much to Dcaddo111 for kindly supplying the CrOx and some Dovo paste.



I have 2 pieces of 3" x 36" x 1/4" balsa. I was thinking about cutting two 12" pieces and gluing them together for a strop. I was looking for 3/8", but couldn't find any.



Would this be rigid enough? Is it OK to use just a single piece of balsa? Or, should I glue the 1/4" balsa to something more rigid, like basswood or another substrate?
