Ok all, I am selling a bunch of my most recent finds. You'll find pictures below, but if you'd like to have more just shoot me a PM. I used the good camera, and tried to capture each razor in its entirety. These are NOT shave ready, but if you want to give it a go anyway I won't stop you. Buyer pays shipping and insurance if wanted, and this is a worldwide sale. All prices are the price stated or best offer. I'm not terribly well versed on straights, but have attempted to base my prices off of comps, and make adjustments for condition. Naturally, if you buy more than 1 item youll receive a discount. I also apologize for any fingerprints in the pictures. :) And so, without further adieu, on with the show:
First up is a BEMA blue steel straight. Measures a hair over 6/8. Look over the pictures, as this one is in pretty rough shape. Scales are a beautiful pattern, and the rust appears to be on the surface only. Due to condition, this one's $60.00.
Second is a Genco 7N. Measures 5/8. Blade is in fantastic condition on this one, small dent in the scales (looks much worse than it really is in the pictures, but full disclosure.) This one's only $35.00
Third is the Friodur 89 1/2. Measures 9/16, and it's in GREAT shape. See the pics. This one's only $60.00
Fourth is the General Diaz. Measures 6/8, and is in pretty good shape. What this really needs is a nice polish to bring out the shine. I couldn't find much information on this one, but I think the brown scales are great! Price is $50.00
Fifth is a Genco. It's a cheapie, measures 6/8, and when I bought it it was shave ready. (I never shaved with it), so it should be still. *despite my earlier statement, I'd suggest this at least be well stropped. This is the cheapie, and $15.00 and it's yours, preferably as an add-on to any other item.
Sixth is a Joseph Smith & Sons 3415 with a barber's notch. Couldn't find too much information on this one either, but saw a few others for sale. The scales on this are in good shape, but the razor seems to me to be well used. Measures 6/8. Price on this is $25.00 b/c of condition.
These last two I think are the cream of the crop of the collection. One because of the BEAUTIFUL scales, and the other because it's such a wonderful razor. I'll go with the beauty first.
Seventh is a Bartmann 505 with gorgeous green scales and an awesome pattern along the spine. Measures a hair under 6/8, and the blade needs a good polish. Some jerk decided to engrave/carve/deface the scales with his initials T.S., but with a good buffing/sanding that should disappear. If you look at the blade you can see where the pattern on the blade used to be that read High Class, but has not faded off. This one's $100.00, and whoever gets it is in for a real treat.
Eighth is the real deal. The amazing, awe inspiring, Jose Ponserrat Pou Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple. This is an amazing piece of shaving goodness. The blade is in MINT condition. I spoke for a few friends of mine about this razor and have gotten conflicting reports as to whether the scales could be original and whatnot. Suffice it to say the scales are regular black, unmarked, and the blade does not now (and i don't think ever would have had) a gold wash as there is no trace of it left and the blade looks so nice. This one's going for $185.00
Now I know I know, there's one more item in the large picture that most likely has many members here drooling. It's a 7-day set of Heljestrand straights in their box. This item has already sold to a wonderful member whom I had the pleasure of speaking to last night on the phone who plans on restoring them back to their original beauty, and keeping them for his personal use. (What a lucky guy!!!)
I want to make one more note. I am not a restorer, I am not a dealer. I find these at antique shops, and for the most part just want to share the wealth. Most of these have been hit by a little detergent and water, and maybe cleaned with a little metal polish to help get the grime off. I have attempted to be descriptive and to take descriptive pictures. If you'd like additional, please let me know.
