I recently acquired 6 new to me razorsfor restoration. they are a j.a. henkels, satis- fyer eicker, simmons barbers pet, and an English line. I have some nice brass lined cocobolo, bocote, madascar ebony scales two are ready for the blades as I wait for my micro fastener shipment to come in. I also made brass wedges for them.will post pics as they are finished. I just finished a lakeside 6/8 resto in bocote. my camera should come back home tomorrow and get a pic or two of it. turned out to be a nice shave too. could stand a bit more honing but it still shaves very well. the rest are 5/8 and hope to get them going again. the scales on the English line and henkels are shot the English line is horn and the henkels is I believe celluloid made to look tortoise shell. I am really liking the wood though, the others are horn and probally could be restored. I also have a horn or possibly ivory(haven't cleaned it up enough to say but these scales will stay on it. a blue steel made in usa .stay tuned in for the pics.
