Pomade/hairwax for a flat top

Its been about 8 years since I've worn a flat top. I've been either buzzing my hair extremely short or just shaving my head. I'd like to go back to a flat top and I've grown my hair out to almost the length needed to visit the barber. I tell the barber to use a #3 on the sides and back, make the top as short as possible without losing the shape.



I'm hoping someone can point me towards a pomade or hairwax that will fit what I want. I'm looking for something matte with as little shine as possible that won't get crunchy, not too greasy/oily and easy to wash out preferably water based.



The pomades I found locally and used were a big reason I did away with the flat top. While my flat top is ok with nothing augmenting it it never stands up and stays crisp and sharp all day with out some help. I don't recall the brand names of the pomades I used in the past but I had issues with them running in the heat,being impossible to get out of my hair and causing a pimple/bump outbreak along the hairline. One made my hair so hard and crunchy I only used it one time and tossed it in the trash.
