I have but one boar and it is the SOC. It seems to work well with either soap or cream. Tips are now very soft but I still get a bit of the scrubbing action I like. Backbone has diminished but it still works very well.
Usually, most folks start with a 1305 or 1250 and then progress to a SOC. Since I started with the SOC, I'm trying to figure out what Semogue boar to try next. I'm hoping to find something that retains more backbone than the SOC but still has soft enough tips after a decent break-in. I'd probably devote it to soap primarily but I'd love it if it could still work decently with cream. I have Cade soap now but Proraso White and MWF are inbound together with some other goodies from Phil.
I now like face lathering more than bowl lathering. I could spring for another SOC boar but if there's anything else I should try, I'd love to give it a shot. :)
Any suggestions?
