I had to travel for work this week, and since I was only taking a carry-on I threw my Fusion (that hasn't been used since last fall) and a travel size shaving gel can in my bag. After nothing but DE shaving the past 6 months, I was actually concerned about the kind of shave I'd get. I hate to admit it, but it was actually near BBS after two passes. The blade did seem to dull quickly, though, since day 3 wasn't nearly as good as day 1.
What I learned is that the Fusion will do a great job for traveling, but with those absurdly expensive blades dulling that quickly, I was quickly reminded why I looked elsewhere to begin with. But even more important, the experience isn't nearly as relaxing or enjoyable. I view my daily routine of whipping up a soap or cream and putting a solid DE razor to my face as kind of a zen thing. It just gets my day started off in the right foot and puts me in a good mood. The Fusion just doesn't provide that experience for me.
