First shave.how to improve next time

So I picked up a my first straight last night. Went home all excited and gave it a whirl



Prep

-hot shower

-slashed warm water on my face

- used hair conditioner in the shower on my face and neck



lathered some Wilkinson sword shave soap I picked up with my hand--- I'll be picking up a brush.



then I started shaving with my straight over all it went well only a few cuts the only issue was my growth was about a week old and I found the straight had issues with that so I used my beard trimmer(Wahl peanut) to trim



how long can you stubble be generally?



I'm confident thee ravor is sharp because it cuts hiars easiy fro my wifes hiar bursh and I'm confident in the guy who sharpened it for me.



I've read the guides so I'll be incorporating some of that into my next shave
