I recently received a free shipping offer from Avon, and, when checking out their website, noticed that certain items were buy-one-get-one-free. Among those items was Wild Country aftershave, which I haven't worn (or smelled) since the 1970s. They were also selling the aftershave balm for $4 for two tubes.
I put some aftershave on post head-shave last night, and used it again this morning on my face. I'm not sure what to make of it. At times, it smells like a smoother, more subtle Clubman (the most frequent comparison I've seen on the 'net). Then I'll catch a whiff, and it resembles the smell of hair conditioner. Or, at another time, it reminds me of Skin Bracer, but without the fresh mint overtone. Despite the online reviews, it never smells bad, exactly, and sometimes I think it's quite nice. There's definitely a barbershop quality to WC, and it's pretty powdery. Like Clubman, it IS one to be sparing with. I'm geeked out that it comes in a GLASS bottle, and I really like the current design:

It's definitely a mature scent (ironic, since the last time I wore it I was 14). It would be good for Autumn and Winter, I think. I know the balm has its fans here on B&B, and I found it fairly non-greasy and an excellent value.
