No idea what I am doing here. But I AM here- it's a start!

Good afternoon-



Here's a snapshot of my situation:



- Wear a tight-cut goatee, but like to be otherwise clean-shaven

- Using Bigelo/Proraso cream and love it

- Hate cartridge razors- constant ingrown hairs and can only shave every 3 or 4 days after healing...

- Have used Bump Fighter Disposables due to sensitivity, but doesn't feel close enough

- Saw a "How It's Made" episode about butterfly razors

- Became a member of B&B



So you are all caught up. I would love to be able to shave every day (my wife would LOVE it). I have read some of the wikis on the site, but still don't know where to start from here. SE or DE? The pros and cons of each? I would like to jump in on this practice, but truly don't know where to start. I honestly didn't know that there were so many different manufacturers and blade combinations- it seems a bit overwhelming. Any recommendations regarding razor and blade combos? What does the initial investment look like? Is there a post on the site selling quality pre-owned equipment? I know it will pay off over time, but also have to rationalize the purchase in my head.
