Hindostan or something else?

Can't decide whether the huge stone on the right is hindostan or something else. I have never seen banding and patterns like this in other hindos, and it cuts very fine and fast. Regardless what it is, it is a stunner.

Hello all!

I recently came into possession of what I believe to be a "NEW" type. However it has a serial number or two. I'm having a hard time figuring the date of this thing.

What does everyone think the best German DE blades are? Ive tried Merkurs, Muhles, Timors and Wilkinson Swords and I think the WS are the best. Merkurs actually arent bad though, neither are Timors.

I wanted to try and make a brush handle with a more geometric shape, but using a material that did not easily lend itself to doing so.

Using bone from the inside of a cow horn has a few challenges. Firstly, it has a natural curve, as well as a twist. It is also hollow for most of its length, thin walled, and very, very hard! These characteristics make working it into a geometric shape, difficult.
