A tale of two Leresche 77s

I am burdened with ownership of two Leresche 77s, both of which have now been replated in rhodium. Why two? Because their personalities are completely different. One is ferociously aggressive, almost on the level of a devette. The other is smooth and mild. The problem, of course, is how to tell the two razors apart at a glance?
Chris, at razorplate.com, who is my go-to replating guy, came up with a brilliant solution. He knew that the first Leresche 77 was plated in rhodium (because he replated it) and that I love I rhodium. For the second one, he used "black" rhodium (more on this later).

The Leresche 77 is a finicky beast. Both of mine had problems. The first one was asymmetrical. The second one was badly bent and severely pitted. Captain Murphy worked on both of these 77s and did amazing work. The second one was a disaster. The center post was badly bent to the point where the razor was effectively unusable. CAP fixed them both and then it was time for Chris E. to work his magic.
The first 77 is on the far left. I am not great at taking pictures, so I'm borrowing from Chris.

Keep in mind that the bare brass on this razor is very thin and was very badly pitted. Unfortunately, black rhodium shows every tiny imperfection. So, despite meticulous work by Chris, there is still some visible pitting. If your razor has lettering or other fine detail, it will be unchanged after a high quality replate. The same is true for imperfections. I bought this razor to be used, so minor imperfections don't bother me. Indeed, I think it adds character.
Black rhodium is interesting stuff. It isn't black, but it is definitely rhodium. It has that wonderful rhodium glide. You know what I mean (if you own any rhodium razors). The color changes in different light and at different angles. Weirdly, it is amazingly similar to my new Macbook in Space Gray. Seriously, if you want a razor to match your Apple product in Space Gray, then black rhodium is your answer. That said, if you want such a match, you may have some issues.
Thanks to CAP (Captain Murphy) and Chris (razorplate.com) for saving these razors. I will enjoy both of them for many years to come!

Traveling Ink Box (US) Part II

Ladies & Gents,

The traveling ink box is coming back! It's been hibernating in Canada for a little while now, but we have the go ahead to bring it back to the States. We'll keep the package from being shipped for at least a week to give the opportunity for members to signup. Please, read the rules carefully if you wish to participate.

To quote from @andrew98

1) The person receiving the ink pays for shipping. (There may be an exception for the first participant)
2) Use a sturdy box for shipping.
3) Make sure you wrap each bottle of ink in cling film, then bubble wrap.
4) Send the box via UPS or FedEx.
5) If the box gets beat up in transit, replace it with one in better condition.
6) Keep the box of ink for no more than one week.
7) If you decide to keep a bottle or two, replace them with an equivalent number of bottles (or more) from your collection.
8) Make a post in this thread requesting an "I'm next" when you're ready to ship the box of ink.
9) Coordinate paypal payment and get the next person's address via private message (not in this thread).
9) Ship the box of ink promptly.
10) If we reach a stage where no one wants to be next, the person with the box of ink can do whatever they like with it (keep it all, PIF the ink, try to revive this thread at some point and keep it going, etc.).
11) I'd like to keep this within the continental US, since shipping outside that gets complicated and expensive.

Warning: Research all inks before you put them in your fancy pen! Some inks have a reputation for damaging pens. Play at your own risk, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Signups will go for about a week. Please, list your user name and your location. We'll figure out the logistics and send it to the closest participant. Please, refer to the past Traveling Ink Box thread for an idea of how this is conducted.

So your given a sample pack of blades, what order do you test them in?

If you were new to DE shaving and someone gave you a sample pack of blades with the following blades. What order would you test them in?

Voskhod
Personna Blues (Labs & Meds)
Astra Superior Platinum
Gillette Silver Blue
Feather
PolSilver Super Iridium
Gillette Nacet
Gillette 7 o'clock Yellow
Rapira Swedish SuperSteel
Rapira Platinum Lux
Personna Red Israeli
Rockwell
Wilkinson Sword
Perma-Sharp
Crystals
Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless
Astra Stainless
Derby
Gillette 7 o'clock Black
Kai Stainless Steel
Bolzano Superinox Inossidable
Rapira Super Stainless
Shark Super Stainless

This is how I would do it:

Order Of Usage
1 Derby
2 Personna Red Israeli
3 Shark Super Stainless
4 Gillette Nacet
5 Bolzano Superinox Inossidable
6 Kai Stainless Steel
7 Gillette 7 o'clock Black
8 Perma-Sharp
9 Gillette 7 o'clock Super Stainless (Green)
10 Wilkinson Sword
11 Astra Stainless
12 Rapira Super Stainless
13 Rapira Swedish SuperSteel
14 Gillette 7 o'clock Yellow
15 Voskhod
16 Crystals
17 Rapira Platinum Lux
18 PolSilver Super Iridium
19 Gillette Silver Blue
20 Personna Blues (Labs & Meds)
21 Rockwell
22 Astra Superior Platinum
23 Feather

Yeah I know YMMV and someone is sure to say you should really have blade X on this list and or I hate Blade Y wouldn't even have it on the list. What I want is knowing what you know now, if you had been given this sample of blades when you 1st started DE shaving. What ordered would you have used them?

Simpson Aftershave Balm

Hi Guys,

I received my Custom Butterscotch Duke 3 Silvertip brush today and the good folks at Simpson threw-in a free bottle of their aftershave balm. The scent out of the tube is not very appealing (to me). Does it smell any better once applied to the face?

Thanks
